Barcelona: one of Spain's nudist gems

Barcelona is one of Europe's premier tourist attractions. The city offers history, art, fine dining, vibrant night life and beaches. Nude beaches. Two of them. And both are in the central part of the city. San Sebastià, is located in the southern part of the Barceloneta area. Sen Sebastià has golden sand stretching more than 1 kilometer toward the port area. The second, Mar Bella, is located farther north. It has dunes between the beach and the road, affording a sense of privacy. Both beaches offer everything you'd expect from a city beach: showers, toilets, lifeguard stations and changing areas, as well as public transit, restaurants and shops nearby.

A third beach, Barceloneta, is located even closer to the heart of the city. However, it has slipped out of favor because the city council adopted legislation in May 2011 that bans nudity on streets. The beach is too close to modern shops and is not shielded by dunes.

Here is what nudists may expect when they visit San Sebastià and Mar Bella when they visit Barcelona. Pack your bags as soon as possible!
