When a child goes off to war

As the story goes, a boy left his bike chained to a tree when he went off to war in 1914. He never returned, leaving the tree no choice but to grow around the bike.































We pause in tribute to the tens of thousands of United States men and women serving in Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world--and to the many who gave their final and full sacrifice to the country. We also pause to honor the  thousands needing care for physical and psychological trauma arising from the fighting. It's time to end our involvement in Afghanistan, so that next Christmas will be a happier time for them and their loved ones.
