The artwork of James Ferringer

James Ferringer specializes in what he calls "manipulative figurative photography," the process of adding, subtracting and remixing the pixels of a photo to create images that look like paintings. Working with both a Nikon camera and an iMac with Photoshop, Ferringer creates art that explores the male body and soul. "To me there is something about the beauty of the human figure which stimulates contemplation of life's deepest mysteries," he says.
